Yoga Barre Fusion

  New at Maa Yoga 

Yoga Barre Fusion is A class that gives you the zen benefits of yoga along with the sculpting benefits of barre.

Be prepared to tone and strengthen the entire body with the fundamentals of barre and then stretched and restored with yoga flows and poses. This class is meant to pump up your energy and leave you feeling blissed.


Pilates fusion

Pilates Fusion blends core based mat Pilates with the fluidity and organic quality of Vinyasa Flow Yoga.

The class will begin with a flow sequence intended to awaken the body and centre the mind. This will be followed by a series of mat Pilates exercises that will create strength, length, and heightened body awareness through alignment based repetitive exercises. This class is appropriate for all levels of yoga and pilates practitioners.


Flow/Sunrise Flow

Maa Flow classes are Ashtanga and Vinyasa based. This form of yoga links together continuous, flowing movement with rhythmic breath.

Progressive classes encourage you to enjoy a more active and challenging practice combining core strength, flexibility, stamina, and mental discipline. You will leave class feeling energized, invigorated, yet with an inner calm.


Gentle MOVEMENT

Gentle Movement Yoga is ideal for beginners, anyone recovering from a past injury, and a great compliment for active lifestyles, and athletes.

This fusion movement class will include yin, gentle stretches, restorative, and somatic yoga. Somatic yoga is a safe and gentle practice of slow, mindful movements that are dramatically effective at relieving pain caused by chronically tight muscles. Inspired by the work of Thomas Hanna and Moshe Feldenkrais, Somatic Yoga is a sensory motor training method that increases flexibility to restore full range of motion. With focus and attention, students are able to strengthen the body-mind connection, reeducating the brain and nervous system to release muscle tension.

Appropriate for every body and physical ability!


Hatha

Hatha classes will bring awareness, strength, and balance to the overall body. The exercises lengthen the muscles while toning, strengthening and improving mobility.

The focus is on the posture and returning the spine to a neutral position, in order to relieve unnecessary muscle strain and tension. In this class we move and focus on fluidity and control. We breathe deeply to centre our minds, and to enhance the use of our deep core muscles. Strengthening your core is vital for a taller, straighter posture.

"Core" does not only refer to your abdominal muscles, but it relates to the core muscles in your arms, back and legs also.

Kundalini

A Kundalini yoga class stimulates the nervous system, glandular system and the immune system as it centers the mind and opens the spirit.

Benefits of Kundalini yoga classes include weight control, relief from stress and insomnia, enhanced creativity, lymphatic cleansing, liver detoxification, balancing the heart and mind, and developing will-power.

Our Kundalini yoga class is open to all levels.

Restorative by Candlelight

Restorative + Therapeutic Yoga

This Class is recommended for every body. A more restorative slower practice.

In this class you will move very slow and experience deep release with the support of props like the back mitra, tension release balls, blocks, dowels, bolsters, straps and many more. Self massage, pranayama breathing and restorative poses are also part of this delicious class.


Yin

Yin yoga will complement all yoga practices, with a particular balance to the more powerful yang energy of the vinyasa and power yogas.

The essence of Yin is the progressive stretching and strengthening of tendons, ligaments and fascia. Excellent for stress release. You ‘surrender’ to each posture, which is held for two to five minutes to encourage the slow and safe opening of connective tissues… allowing for emotional clearings and deep physical openings especially through the hip, pelvis and spine.

Yin Aromatherapy

In this Yin class be delighted by the pure healing scents of Saje Wellness and Maa Chakra essential oils.

During the class we will have diffusers misting calming scents. We will offer an oil treatment of some kind as you unwind in your yin postures. This class is the best remedy to release any stress and restore your vitality.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga nidra provides the opportunity to heal and find balance. It is a method for complete mental, physical and emotional recovery.

Yoga nidra is a guided meditation that leads the practitioner to a state of deep relaxation, while remaining awake and alert throughout. The process involves intention setting, cultivation of witness, sensing I-Ness, as well as varied stages awareness; ultimately leading to the discovery of one’s own true state of being.

An ideal practice, yoga nidra is a powerful and effective tool, accessible to all levels of practitioner.
